It’s a gigantic weekend for EDM fans as two superstar DJs are in the 305. And LIV nightclub, at the Fontainebleau, is doing a double-header with Steve Aoki on Friday and Calvin Harris on Saturday night. Expect cake smashing, crowd surfing, confetti, crazy light shows, lines ten deep, girls in skimpy dresses and more from the back-to-back performances. Oh, and you’ll be spending mucho dinero too. Bringing in headliners like Aoki and Harris ain’t cheap, so get ready to substantially lighten your wallet—especially if you attend both sets.

But who cares? Because the party never ends on South Beach!

According to Gossip Extra’s Jose Lambiet, shock jock Howard Stern has just bought a $52 million manse in Palm Beach—in all cash! Stern, who has been house hunting in South Florida with wife Beth Ostrosky Stern, has recently groused about paying taxes in New York, where he currently resides. So, a move to the tax haven of Florida could be a financial one.

The 39,000-square-foot oceanfront estate on North County Road was scooped up for a hefty $52 million via a trust. No mortgage either. In fact, according to Lambiet, the home wasn’t even on the market. But for $52 million anyone will move out. Not surprisingly, it has been the biggest sale in the area this year.

The property boasts 19,000 square feet of living space, an oceanfront swimming pool, formal gardens, five bedrooms and a guest house. When they move in, the Stern’s will be neighbors with billionaire Nelson Peltz and conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh.

Yes, I know, I know, I’ve been missing in action for almost a month but there’s a good reason for it. Let’s start off with my trip to Vail for the closing of the mountain for the 2012/2013 season. As I landed and got adjusted to the altitude, I made it to the Sonnenalp Resort of Vail, dropped off my stuff in the condo and then headed straight to the King’s Club for several of their signature “Blueberry Muffin” martinis. So yummy! I was greeted by all of the staff and a few friends—and then the night was underway. I don’t know what it is with me, but the average person would be completely exhausted after going out all night in Miami, getting on a plane at 9 a.m., drinking heavily in First Class for 4.5 hours, and then landing in a place that’s 30 degrees colder…but not me! I, for some reason, get over-boosted with energy and become the Energizer Bunny.

I guess it’s because I was excited for the week’s upcoming activities. Starting with the end of the season shopping, pizza night with my local Italian friends (who have the two cutest little boys in the world) and, of course, private dining and karaoke night at my British billionaire besties’ ski in/ski out estate right on “Born Free.” That’s the last run of the day when you’ve been thrashing away and drinking (our little secret, lol) on the slopes.

I stayed in Vail for about a week and then had to call it short because of my friend’s gorgeousssss wedding at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. Jaime Blankie (the bride) looked stunning in her custom-made white Vera Wang dress as she walked down the rose petal sprinkled aisle. The ceremony lasted for about 15 minutes and as it ended, literally, a rainbow formed over the main museum building and she and Farid Dahllal (obviously, the groom) walked out of the gardens hand-in-hand. Such an amazing picture. The wedding reception and full-on dance party went on until about 1:30 a.m. The Gypsy Kings performed nine songs and the liquor flowed like there was no tomorrow. Everyone had a great time and we all suffered from major hangovers the next day. I can’t believe my liver can handle so much liquor. Lol.

The following week I took a quick hop to Amsterdam. It was 4/20 so I had to celebrate the “holiday” in a festive way with great friends. Hee hee. I’m not much of a “smoker” but everyone who has been to Amsterdam recommended I try “White Widow.” And I did. I think I ended up on cloud 14!!! Seriously. I even lost my BlackBerry. Uch! Never a dull moment.

Beau with the “White Widow.”

I finally caught up with my friends Brian Long and Todd Corder (whose wedding I went to last year on Lake Atitlan in Guatemala). Thank goodness I did because they were leaving the next morning back to Miami. My BFF Michelle Anselmo also flew in from London to visit me. We all had a blast and I also got COMMITTED. Yes, my man Marc dropped on one knee—and popped the question. I feel kind of bad because I can’t EXACTLY remember what he said word-for-word because I was in complete shock and because everyone was staring at us and flashbulbs were reflecting from everywhere in the restaurant—but I said “yes.” Obviously.

The beautiful Cartier Trinity ring was placed on my finger and we kissed. That night we all went out to some cute lounge that was playing the best music, but I can’t remember the name of the place. A few other things went down that night, like me being stuffed in the trunk of my friend Rachida’s Smart Car, getting pulled over by the police, taxi cab driver fights, walking through the Red Light district and thinking, “Really, that girl is a hooker???” Plus, having to snatch a cab to her boyfriend’s house that I didn’t realize was 30 minutes out of central town and THEN staying awake and not getting back home until 10 a.m. It was the jet lag that kept me awake. At some point I do remember going to the Conservatoriam Hotel for drinks with Brian and Todd, but can’t remember which day. It’s all a blur—but a good blur.

Janelle Pierzina and Beau.

Fast forward a few days and I’m embraced with love from my very preggo best friends Janelle and Jess. (Janelle Pierzina was on Big Brother with me). We were all back in Miami for our friend Melissa and Dean Carr’s wedding. We had four days of festivities planned from a girls’ night out to a Welcome to Miami gathering at Melissa and Dean’s penthouse for all of their most important guests. The bridal suite at the W hotel the night before the wedding was amazing, as was having Lionel Richie perform at the wedding. The entire evening was full of debauchery and dancing, followed by a Sunday hangover party at the Mondrian pool. It was definitely a weekend wedding marathon that will never be forgotten.

Lionel Richie.

The next night my dentist bestie, Dr. Karent Sierra from the RHOM, and I scooted up to Boca to visit our friend Gail Vaughn and her daughter Grace. They just bought a beautiful new home in Woodfield Country Club, so we went to welcome them to the neighborhood with cookies and champagne. Then had a delicious dinner and a million laughs at one of the country club’s five fine-dining restaurants. We ate so much you could have rolled us out of there.

Skip ahead a couple of days and I was telephoned by the hippest shoe designer/superstar, Nicholas Kirkwood: “I’m in town for the night! Let’s Party!” I invited him and his gal pal to Dore to have dinner with me and DJ Michelle Pooch. Yes, she’s DJing now—and pretty good at it too. The next day I picked up Nicholas from the Fontainebleau Hotel and we went to lunch at Carpaccio at Bal Harbour. We also met up with the BH executives for a little tour of the complex, since Kirkwood is looking into a possible storefront location within the shops. We shall see. He’s also contemplating a space in the Miami Design District, but that won’t be for a while if it goes through since the area is still in the beginning stages of design and development.

Beau Beasley and Nicholas Kirkwood at Carpaccio Bal Harbour.

Well, I think that just about gets us caught up—for now. I hope all of the mothers out there had a fantastic Mother’s Day this past Sunday. I spent the day on Fisher Island with my girls Sarah Carter, Stacy Milon, Becki DeLeon (she’s the mother of my Yorkie, Sambuca), Rebeca Cabral and a few other friends. Stay fit, well and fabulous.

By law, stone crabs are strictly harvested from October 15 to May 15, which means there are only a few days left to gorge on the delicate (and pricy) crustaceans until next Fall.

Already, Joe’s Stone Crab is shuttered, albeit temporarily. The iconic restaurant closed down for a few days this morning and will reopen on May 15 for a limited summer schedule, but will not be serving stone crabs. Luckily, there are many delicious dishes to eat at Joe’s—including their crispy fried chicken—through July 28. During this summertime run, Joe’s will only be open for dinner.

Meanwhile, Joe’s Takeaway officially locks up for the summer on May 19. I’ve never understood why the takeaway section of Joe’s ceases each summer, since most people I know go for their soups, salads, chicken sandwiches and daily specials. Plus, a bountiful breakfast. Their business does not seem to revolve solely around stone crabs so it is baffling why they close at all.

Another spot to dig into mounds of stone crabs before season ends is My Ceviche, which now has two locations: South Beach and Brickell. This seafood-centric eatery from Sam Gorenstein and George Stone Crab, serves fresh stone crabs as well as tuna and octopus tacos, burritos and ceviche. Their claws are market price, which I can only imagine is quite high due to the short window left.

You can also place a last-minute order with George Stone Crab. They are running a promotion where if you say the magic words—Holy Crab—you will receive a free pound of stone crabs based upon a 5-pound (or more) order. Call them at: 1-800-273-CRAB.

In general, this was one of the worst stone crab seasons in memory. Between cold water, the predatory octopus and rising prices putting fishermen out of business, this year’s haul has been skimpier than a swimsuit on 3rd and Ocean Drive. In fact, many diners, unbeknownst to them, have been eating frozen stone crabs, which stick to the shell and are tasteless.

Here’s hoping next season’s harvest will be plumper and more forthcoming.

In the restaurant world, there have been many New-York-To-Miami transplants over the years (The Dutch, Mr. Chow and Serafina, to name a few), but none have elicited the excitement surrounding the news that hotspot Cipriani Downtown would be opening in the 305.

While the rumors have been swirling for a while, it was quietly announced that the sophisticated and historic Italian eatery would be launching Friday, May 10, at Icon Brickell. This is going to be the power spot for Miamians, who need an alternative to the usual rotation of Zuma, Milo’s, Prime 112 and Hakkasan. Good luck getting dinner reservations, though.

Yes, Cipriani Downtown will be sceney. It’s a given. That’s because their other outposts around the globe are filled to max cap with the chicest socialites, models and moguls. This, their 20th worldwide location, comes from Maggio and Ignazio Cipriani, the scions of the famed Cipriani clan. Think glamour, high-cuisine and a gorgeous space.

Designed by longtime Cipriani family architect Michele Bonan, expect a blue-and-white nautical theme, replica of the bar at Harry’s Bar in Venice, striped Venetian flooring, walnut wood, floor-to-ceiling windows and seating for 400 guests. The 8,000-square-foot space spans two levels and boasts waterfront views and seating.

Beef Carpaccio and a Bellini.

Ostensibly an Italian restaurant, with roots that go back to Venice in the ’30s, the menu at Cipriani Downtown straddles many cuisines with dishes like Tuna Tataki Salad, Black Cod with Yuzu Miso Sauce and New Sashimi Salmon. Of course, if you are hankering for Italian eats, they have that covered too with Fritto Misto, Prosciutto di Parma with Melon, Potato Gnocchi al Gorgonzola, Langoustine Scampi, Veal Milanese and Tiramisu. Plus, huge salads brimming with fresh produce for the Ladies Who Lunch set.

In terms of cocktails, Cipriani is famous for the Bellini. The peach and Prosecco drink was created by Giuseppe Cipriani in 1948 and has become a symbol of wealthy consumption ever since. (I see a lot of Bellinis in my future.)

While Cipriani has always attracted a fabulous crowd—from Elizabeth Taylor and Humphrey Bogart back in the day to Sean “Diddy” Combs and Kim Kardashian now—the combination of Miami, classic Italian cuisine and star power should be electric.

Risotto with Fresh Peas.

Cipriani Downtown will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner.

The Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce is hosting its 91st annual Dinner Gala on June 1 at the Miami Beach Convention Center. This is always a fun event, honoring local community leaders with a black tie soiree. Expect live entertainment, flowing cocktails and one of the best silent auctions of the year.

The five honorees at 2013’s Dinner Gala are Michael Aller (“Mr. Miami Beach”), Alberto Carvalho (Superintendent of the Miami-Dade County School Board), Phillip and Patricia Frost (one of Miami’s most philanthropic couple) and Phil Goldfarb (President and COO of Fontainebleau Hotel). Combined, the honorees’ accomplishments help make Miami Beach a growing, vibrant and charitable city.

Deco Drive’s Louis Aguirre will be hosting the festivities with his usual charm and humor. While there is a lot of business networking that goes on during the Dinner Gala—especially for the cocktail portion of the evening—true aficionados know that the auction items (over 250) are a great opportunity to score travel deals and only-in-Miami experiences.

In fact, it was just announced that C1 Bank has donated a package that is sure to go for big bucks: The coveted auction item includes four suite tickets to a Miami Heat game of your choice during the 2013-2014 season; a limo ride; food and beverage for the evening; and a signed basketball from the team.

Dinner Gala tickets range from $20,000 (Platinum sponsor level) to $300 (individual ticket), and can be purchased here. You can also buy ads in the Chamber’s commemorative program book to congratulate this year’s honorees.

Over 1,000 of South Florida’s elite are expected to attend this year’s event on June 1. Don’t miss it!
