Eberjey Debuts Its New Store With a Ladies Lingerie Party

It was a ladies-only soiree late last week for the launch of the new Eberjey store on Miami Beach. Eberjey, which is located in the blossoming Sunset Harbour Shops, is known for its tasteful and beautiful lingerie and swimsuits. Appropriately, the mood was downright feminine as socialites shopped for lacy thongs and traded panty stories—from the good to the embarrassing.

Fashionable Friday: The Scoop on Chanel’s Opening Party

It was a gorgeous gathering at Chanel Bal Harbour as the legendary fashion house reopened their ground-level boutique after a few months of renovations. Chanel is NOT one of the stores migrating to the Design District (unlike Louis Vuitton and Prada), so a refresh was certainly in order. Chanel first debuted at BH in 1994. All of Miami Beach’s VIPs

Ocean Drive History Part 3: The Storm, The Startup and The Success

By JERRY POWERS (©) 2013 Here is part three of “South Beach Royalty.” I find that the hardest part of writing is writing. I always keep great notes, a legal pad diary of sorts. This helps me return to 1992, so come back with me. But know that “new experiences take the place of old ones, new memories, better memories…each

The $40 Million House Party

Extravagant homes, flashy cars, designer bags, ridiculous plastic surgery and diamonds galore. All are par for the course in Miami, where the rich show their assets in luxurious fashion. Status is all about appearance in the 305, and displays of wealth are not modest. Sorry to our more reserved peeps in the Northeast. We like to flaunt what we got!

Ugly Sweater Party at Broken Shaker Last Night

One of the great, ironic traditions of the holiday season is the Ugly Sweater party. I’m not really sure when or how it started, but this Yuletide-themed fun has been more prevalent in recent years, with hipsters donning the tackiest sweaters they can find—either from past presents or via JC Penney. Nevertheless, it’s always a way to get in a

Art Basel Brunch For Patrick McMullan and Samsung

Long lines, door people with attitudes, lousy drinks. Welcome to some of the worst parties during Art Basel. That, however, was not the case at Patrick McMullan’s brunch at the penthouse of Soho Beach House this afternoon. It has been the best executed event of Basel so far—easy, breezy, delightful. Fun people, scintillating conversation. And plentiful food and cocktails. It

The Hot Scene At Florida Cookery

In Miami, opening a restaurant means throwing a good pre-party. Such was the case at the launch of Florida Cookery at The James Royal Palm Hotel last night. This new culinary sensation from Kris Wessel (formerly of Red Light Little River fame) has been generating buzz for months now. After dining there, I can see why. First up, there is
